What is the World Dang Soo Do Union?
The World Dang Soo Do Union (WDU) is a international fraternal organization of Dang Soo Do and Moo Duk Kwan practitioners created by founder and president Choeng Jae Nim Song Ki Kim
What is the purpose of the WDU?
Many of Choeng Jae Nim Song Ki Kim's former students have gone on to found and head many successful independent organizations. Choeng Jae Nim created the WDU as an organization in which member associations could maintain their independence, yet interact and support the growth of traditional Dang Soo Do worldwide. In uniting our intellects we can make traditional Dang Soo Do a more powerful force among martial arts.
What if I am already part of a Federation or an Association?
As its name implies we are a Union of Dang Soo Do practitioners, many of whom are already part of other great federations or associations and are seeking a larger, international organization with roots back to Korea. The WDU provides this for any and all Dang Soo Do practitioners.
Where is the WDU headquartered?
The WDU is headquartered at the historic Soungtan Moo Duk Kwan Dojang in Soungtan, Korea (now a part of Pyongtaek city). The Soungtan dojang was founded in 1958 by Choeng Jae Nim Song Ki Kim and remains in operation today under Head Master Yoon Ki Kim.
